Gorham Football is a proud supporter of the Gorham Rec Flag Football Program. Gorham Rec offers a 6 Week Fall session running 1 night a week in September/October.

This program is to help introduce the basic skill set that you need to play football before you make your transition into the Gorham Youth Tackle Football program.

This is a K-5 Offering, and registration/administration is through the rec department. Registration and information releases late summer through the rec department.

THE

BASICS


  • Agility & Balance: Learning how to juke, cut, and change directions to avoid getting their flag pulled.

  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Tracking a ball through the air, catching, and throwing.

  • Spatial Awareness: Figuring out where they are on the field relative to teammates and defenders.

TEAMWORK


The absolute #1 goal of youth sports is to ensure kids have fun so they want to stay active. Flag football delivers exactly that—high action, low pressure, and plenty of opportunities for every kid to touch the ball.

DEVELOPMENT


The skills learned here aren't just for football. The footwork translates beautifully to lacrosse and basketball; the tracking and catching carry over to baseball and softball, and the overall conditioning builds a great foundation for any sport they want to try later.
